Status quo & Perspectives of Media-Based Interaction Design |
|
 |
14 and 15 April 2005 with VFFVmedia in Cologne

The linking-up of different production, distribution and reception facilities in the context of digital audiovisual communication leads to potentially numerous options for the specific design of media-based interaction in the field of information, entertainment, education and service. Different forms of media-based interaction like ring tones, logos, video-on-demand, video streaming, conferencing or multi-user-games have already been put into practice. It is now necessary to develop further forms of media-based interaction that prove to be as technically and economically useful as well as in terms of content.
During this two day event held by Eyes & Ears of Europe and VFFVmedia within the framework of the ContentCommunity - the Transfer Office of the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia for the Development of Interactive Contents -, leading experts will go into the following questions by using concrete examples from their own field of activity: What forms of media-based interaction design do already exist and what kind of content do users particularly demand? What technical and formal preconditions for media-based interaction are already given today and what preconditions are foreseeable and desirable? And last but not least: What are the expectations in connection with content, communication and economics in relation to media-based interaction design?
The Lord Mayor of Cologne, Fritz Schramma, invites to this event that will take place in the 'Spanischer Bau' of the old town hall of Cologne. The event is primarily aimed at employees of media and communication companies, (post) production enterprises, design studios, agencies and consulting companies that would like to learn about the state of affairs and the future development of media based interaction design. Also persons generally interested in media, students and trainees are very welcome.
Registration deadline: 8th April 2005
The workshop language is German.
